We’re going to lay out everything you need to know about your first Cryotherapy session!
When you come in for your appointment, you’ll fill out a waiver and we are here to answer any questions you may have. After filling out the waiver, we take your blood pressure to make sure you’re okay to do a Whole Body Cryotherapy session. If your blood pressure is too high at the moment, we may take it again, or if it normally isn’t that high, we will need a doctors note that it’s okay to do a treatment with us.
Everything you need to change into is here at the shop! We provide the robe, socks, gloves, and spa slippers. The socks, gloves, and slippers will protect your fingers and toes from the cold, so it is required to be worn for your own comfort and safety.
Women may go into the chamber without underwear, and men must leave underwear on when inside the chamber. All metal jewelry and piercings from the neck on down must be removed as well.
Everyone’s first treatment is a minute and thirty seconds to get your skin used to the cold temperatures. For following sessions, you have the option to increase your time to a maximum of 3 minutes. For our Juka Cryotherapy Chamber, we raise you on the lift so your head is above the top of the chamber. It is very important that during the treatment that you keep your head up above the top of the chamber at all times. Your safety is our number one priority!
A technician will be next to you the entire time during the treatment to talk you through it and make the time fly by! After the treatment, you’ll be let out of the chamber and are free to change back to your clothes when you are ready. You will be able to feel the blood circulating throughout your body to warm you back up. A few people may feel some benefits after their first session, but most people need to do several sessions before the benefits become apparent!
