Cryotherapy to aiding his recovery. Cryotherapy is great for muscle recovery after working out, but he also explains how he needs to recover after his extremely long seminars. Sometimes, Robbins is on stage talking to thousands of people for 12 hours straight. This is extremely draining and hard on the body, which is why 3-minute Cryotherapy sessions help to reset the nervous system and greatly shorten body recovery time. Cryotherapy helps to give him the energy to get through these seminars, which is about the equivalent to running a marathon!

The endorphin rush that comes with doing Cryotherapy sessions can have long lasting effects, and doing treatments everyday can help you achieve that “runners high” feeling all day everyday. There is no surprise that Robbins has a Cryotherapy machine in his house and that it is a part of his morning routine! He is one of many celebrities and professional athletes who have their own machine for personal use. Cryotherapy can help you add value to your life by increasing your performance and output.

Everything You Need to Know About Your First Cryotherapy Session

Everything You Need to Know About Your First Cryotherapy Session

We’re going to lay out everything you need to know about your first Cryotherapy session!

When you come in for your appointment, you’ll fill out a waiver and we are here to answer any questions you may have. After filling out the waiver, we take your blood pressure to make sure you’re okay to do a Whole Body Cryotherapy session. If your blood pressure is too high at the moment, we may take it again, or if it normally isn’t that high, we will need a doctors note that it’s okay to do a treatment with us.

Everything you need to change into is here at the shop! We provide the robe, socks, gloves, and spa slippers. The socks, gloves, and slippers will protect your fingers and toes from the cold, so it is required to be worn for your own comfort and safety.

Women may go into the chamber without underwear, and men must leave underwear on when inside the chamber. All metal jewelry and piercings from the neck on down must be removed as well.

Everyone’s first treatment is a minute and thirty seconds to get your skin used to the cold temperatures. For following sessions, you have the option to increase your time to a maximum of 3 minutes. For our Juka Cryotherapy Chamber, we raise you on the lift so your head is above the top of the chamber. It is very important that during the treatment that you keep your head up above the top of the chamber at all times. Your safety is our number one priority!

A technician will be next to you the entire time during the treatment to talk you through it and make the time fly by! After the treatment, you’ll be let out of the chamber and are free to change back to your clothes when you are ready. You will be able to feel the blood circulating throughout your body to warm you back up. A few people may feel some benefits after their first session, but most people need to do several sessions before the benefits become apparent!

*Cryotherapy is not a medical treatment and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It is important that you check with your doctor if you have any conditions that might bring up some questions because we are unable to give any consultation.

Top 5 Benefits of Doing Cryotherapy

The benefits of doing Cryotherapy vary from person to person, but it is nothing short of impressive how treatments from one minute and thirty seconds up to three minutes can yield such results! We’ve come up with the top 5 benefits that cryotherapy has on your health and well being.

1. Decreasing Inflammation: Exposing your skin to extremely cold temperatures triggers a systemic anti-inflammatory response, which helps to decrease inflammation in all areas of the body. Cryotherapy is thought of a more tolerable and beneficial ice bath or cold plunge! With temperatures around -160 degrees Celsius (around -260 degrees Fahrenheit), it’s no doubt that your inflammation will decrease much quicker.

2. Relieving Aches and Pains: Cryotherapy is an effective way in improving joint disorders and is a way that a lot of people try to recover from injuries. Cryotherapy was first designed in Japan for rheumatoid arthritis, but many studies have been conducted over the years about Cryotherapy helping in muscle recovery. It’s no surprise why so many professional athletes do Cryotherapy to cut their recovery time and increase their performance! This can help make your work outs more productive because your body won’t be as sore, and you’ll be able to keep up working out daily.

3. Increasing Your Metabolism: Exposing your body to extremely cold temperatures makes your body increase its metabolic rate to help produce heat. The effect can last up to 42 hours following the treatment. The best part about this is that your body will burn up to 800 calories following the treatment (yes, we said 800 calories)! After doing several Cryotherapy treatments, your body will naturally increase its metabolism and the effects will last longer. Although we do not recommend cryotherapy specifically for weight loss, it can be a positive compliment to a healthy diet and working out several times a week!

4. Endorphin Rush: Another effect of exposing your body to extremely cold temperatures is the release of endorphins. There have been studies that have shown that Cryotherapy has helped to improve mood disorders and has had positive effects on people with depression. Most people say they feel a “runner’s high” after doing a treatment and feel a lot happier and ready to take on the day!

5. Anti-Aging Effect: Cryotherapy helps to accelerate the production of collagen, which helps to improve skin elasticity and texture. This also helps to even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of cellulite. These effects won’t be apparent after your first treatment, but will become apparent when Cryotherapy sessions become more of a routine.
